Introduction to Family Promise Video

Ways to help with Donations to Grace House

Grace House is a 1700 sq foot 4 bedroom home in Southbridge MA.  The quarters are tight, and it is tough place to be at times, but it is safe and secure while a family is in transition.  We don’t have a overabundance of storage space at Grace House.  Our basement floods in the spring (and in summer and winter too) so we can’t store a large amount of donations.  Some items we can always use at Grace House include the following:

  • Office Supplies-paper, pens, envelopes, sharpie markers and other misc items
  • Bath Towels-with so many people coming through we are always wearing out towels, plus they can be sent on with a family when they move into their own apartments
  • Diapers (call to find out what size is needed), wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer
  • Twin size sheets-again, we can use them while families stay with us and they can help in that first apartment
  • Shampoo, liquid hand soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes, and other toiletries-all items that cannot be purchased with Supplemental Nutritional Assistance funds that families can access while they stay with us at Grace House
  • Non-perishable food items-Healthy snack foods, juices, dried fruit, cereal bars, cereal, muffins, and quickbreads.  We provide breakfast and snacks to children staying at Grace House, so every donation helps off-set those costs
  • FRUIT FRUIT FRUIT-we love to keep it on the table in a big bowl and the kids love to eat it!

Ways to help with Donations of Household Goods

“We are so glad to see our donation go to FPSWC .  It is so great to know that a family will find a good use for our furniture.” — Michael Haffterty, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Webster and Volunteer at Grace House donating a beautiful table and chair set for a family moving out of Grace House.

In the darkness of night, the light of FPSWC volunteers offers hope and comfort. An estimated 500 volunteers support our efforts by providing night time companionship for the families at Grace House. We provide orientation training for all new volunteers and on-going training programs are offered too. FPSWC staff are on-call to support volunteers if any emergency occurs at Grace House. CORI checks are required for all volunteers.

Alternative gifting — Many families are teaching their children generosity through alternative giving during birthdays and family holidays.

Donation Gift — Make a donation to FPSWC, then print this card to give to the person you choose to honor with the gift.  What better present for the person that has everything than helping someone who has so little?
